Opened in the year 2000 to house the famous Houston Astros, the Minute Maid Park is a baseball stadium for Houston, Texas. On June 5, 2002, Houston-based Minute Maid acquired the naming rights to the stadium. The ballpark was Houston's first retractable-roofed stadium. It protected fans and athletes alike from Houston's humid weather, while allowing fans to enjoy outdoor baseball. Its largest entrance is inside what was once Houston's Union Station, and the left-field side of the stadium features a train to honor the site's history. The train moves along a track on top of the exterior wall beyond left field whenever an Astros player hits a home run. Traditionally, the train carried coal, but now it is filled with giant oranges as a tribute to Minute Maid's most famous product, orange juice.
