History

Ohio's history goes back thousands of years. Paleo-Indian peoples lived here in 13,000 BC. Native Americans called the Archaic peoples took over th\e land at some point. The early Archaic people were nomadic hunter gatherers. The later tribes left fewer clues so are mostly a mystery. Most of their sites are now under rivers.

The later Archaic people developed regional cultures & subsistence economies.
