Andre Lamont Johnson, born July 11, 1981 in Miami, Florida is a wide receiver for the Houston Texans.

High School Career:
Andre Johnson graduated from Miami Senior High School in Miami, Florida in 1999 and was rated as a top prospect in the country. He caught 31 passes for 908 yards and 15 touchdowns, returned 10 kickoffs for 310 yards and two scores, and four punts for 10 yards and one touchdown during his senior year. As a junior, he caught 25 catches for 618 yards and 12 touchdowns. Johnson was ranked as No.3 wide receiver by The Sporting News and No.1 by the PrepStar Dream Team Top 100 and many other accomplishments. Not only was Andre great in football, but he also lettered for two years in track and one year in baseball.

College Career:
Andre Johnson attended University of Miami in 1999. During his first year of college he was redshirted. In 2000, No. 5, Johnson played in 11 games as a wide receiver and kickoff return specialist. In Johnson’s first game as a Hurricane, he caught three passes for 57 yards and scored a touchdown. He had a fantastic year returning kickoffs, averaging 20.8 yards per return which ranked him second on the team. As a sophomore, Andre made national headline for his exceptional performance in Miami’s Rose Bowl game and victory over Nebraska. He earned Co-MVP honors with QB Ken Dorsey. He ranked third in the BIG EAST in yards per catch which averaged 18.4. Johnson had another outstanding performance in Miami’s win at Florida State as well. During his junior year, Andre became only the second player in MU history to gain 1000 yards or more receiving in a season. He caught 52 passes for 1,092 yards and nine touchdowns, leading the nation in yards/catch at 21. He also led the BIG EAST in receiving yards and yards/game. His nine touchdown catches ranks tied for the fifth-most in a single season by a UM receiver (1,831) and tied for third in career touchdown receptions (20). Andre’s consistency produced outstanding performances in the team's most meaningful games.

NFL Career:
Andre Johnson was drafted into the NFL by the Houston Texans in 2003 as the number three overall pick. Johnson signed a six-year, $39 million dollar contract, with his rookie contract including over $13.5 million in guaranteed compensation. He started and played in all 16 games, recording 66 receptions for 976 yards and 4 touchdowns. In 2004, he recorded 79 catches for 1,142 yards and 6 touchdowns and was selected to his first Pro Bowl. In 2005, Johnson played only 13 games due to an injury. In 2006, Andre led the NFL in receptions with 103 for 1,147 yards and 5 touchdowns. He played in the Pro Bowl once again. March 2007, the Houston Texans signed Andre to a six year extension worth $60 million and includes $15 million in guarantees. In this season, he missed another 7 games because of an injury and returned mid-season to finish with 851 receiving yards and a career-high 8 receiving touchdowns leading the league in receiving yards/game with 95.6. On December 14, 2008 Johnson recorded his first 200 yard game with 207 yards and 1 touchdown in the Texans 13 to 12 win over the Titans. Johnson finished the 2008 season recording career highs in receptions and receiving yards totaling 115 receptions for 1575 yards (both of which lead the league) and TD receptions with 8. This same season, Andre Johnson became the first player in NFL history to record 7 games with at least 10 receptions. After the 2009 season with 101 catches for 1,569 yards and 9 touchdowns, Johnson was one of two receivers in history to lead the league in receiving yards in consecutive seasons.
