George Strait Tour – Nationwide Arena

George is currently on tour through 2010 with Reba McEntire. The second leg kicks off in the fall at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH on September 9th.

Nationwide Arena uses a Center Stage setup for George and Reba  as do all the venues on the current tour.

Steve Slaton – Running Back

Steve Slaton was born January 4, 1986 in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. He is a running back for the Houston Texans.

High School Career:
Slaton attended Conwell-Egan Catholic School. He made varsity on the football team in his freshman year and he was also the MVP of the Philadelphia Catholic League and a four-year-all-conference selection. During his senior year, Slaton rushed for 1,836 yards and 26 TDs. As a junior and a senior, he was a first team all-state. During his high school career, Steve rushed for more than 6000 yards and 73 TDs. He passed up the opportunity to play in the Big 33 Football Classic. Steve Slaton was not only in football, but track as well.

College Career:
Steve Slaton started his college career in 2005 playing for West Virginia. He was a 4th string running back. Not receiving any carries the first two games, he carried 11 times for 90 yards against Virginia Tech. He got his first career start and win against the Rutgers, rushing 139 yards and a TD. After the Mountaineers comeback in the second half of a scoreless game against Louisville, Slaton was name the Walter Camp, USA Today,, and Big East national player of the week. He rushed 188 yards on 31 carries and 5 rushing TDs for this game. In the 2005 Nokia Sugar Bowl, Slaton was named MVP for gaining 204 yards on 26 carries and scoring 3 TDs. With a starting position in 2006, Slaton received many awards for his outstanding performances. He was named as a semi-finalist for the 2006 Maxwell Award, a finalist for the 2006 Doak Walker Award, named the 2006 Big East Offensive Player of the Year, finished 4th in the 2006 Heisman Trophy race, he was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, just to name a few. In 2007, Slaton and the Mountaineers clinched the Big East Championship. Slaton finished the regular season with 1,053 yards on 210 carries and 17 touchdowns. He also had 25 receptions for 348 yards and a touchdown. In the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, Slaton left the game early due to a leg injury. Slaton passed on his senior year at West Virginia to enter the 2008 NFL Draft.

NFL Career:
Slaton started his rookie season in 2008 when he was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round draft. In July of 2008, the Texans signed Slaton to a multi-year contract. Slaton scored his first touchdown against the Titans with a 6 yard run, finishing the came with 18 carries and 116 yards. Following the game, Texans head coach, Gary Kubiak named him as the starting running back. Slaton’s performance against the Colts won him the NFL Rookie of the Week Award. He rushed 93 yards and 2 TDs on 16 carries. In his 14th week of play, Slaton was awarded the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. His 2009 season was not played as well as his rookie season. Slaton was a starting player at the start of the season, but after 4 fumbles in the first 4 games, he was temporarily benched during the 4th game allowing Ryan Moats to play. On November 8, 2009, Slaton was benched and replaced by Moats and on December 9, Steve was put on the Injured Reserve list due to a shoulder injury.

Zac Diles – Texans Linebacker

Zachary Lee Diles was born on June 11, 1985 in Abilene, Texas. He is a linebacker for the Houston Texans.

High School Career:
Diles attended Tulare High School in California, but did not get any recognition on the football field.

College Career:
After receiving no recognition in high school, Diles enrolled at Fresno City College in 2003. He stayed at the junior college and played football in 2003-2004. During these two years, Zach made 130 tackles. As a freshman he totaled 60 stops and 70 stops as a sophomore. In 2004, Diles was named to the All-CVC squad. In 2005, Zach transferred to Kansas State and played in all 11 games finishing fourth on the team with 50 tackles (27 of which were solo). During his first year as a Wildcat, Diles also received the team award for the most improved defensive player. He also had another great season as a senior. In ’06, Zach’s tackles were very impressive, which got him ranked second on the team and eighth in the Big 12 for his 92 tackles. He also got his first career touchdown by returning a fumble for 43 yards. During his college career, Diles got 279 tackles.

NFL Career:
Zac Diles was drafted by the Texans in 2007. As a rookie, he played in eleven games, mostly of which were on special teams and towards the end of the season played linebacker position where he saw most of the action and made a few tackles. His second season as a Texan, Zach had a very successful first eight games with 66 tackles, and then put on the Injured Reserve list after he broke his left tibia. During the first eight games he played outside linebacker, scored his first-career interception and first sac of his career. In 2009, Diles started 14 out of the 16 games. He had over 60 tackles in this season as well. In addition, he played middle and outsider linebacker, played on special teams, and forced fumbles on the opponents. Diles is going in strong on his 4th season with the Texans.

Matt Turk – Texans Punter

Matthew Edward Turk was born on June 16, 1968 in Greenfield, Wisconsin. He is a punter for the Houston Texans.

High School Career:
Turk attended Greenfield High School and lettered in football.

College Career:
Matt played football at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Turk punted 110 times for 3,991 yards for his college career.

NFL Career:
Turk was drafted into the NFL by the Washington Redskins in 1995 and stayed with the Redskins until 2000 when he went to Miami. He stayed in Miami for two years, and then played for the Jets for one year. The next season he was back with the Dolphins until he was traded St. Louis for a year. Since 2007 he has been with the Texans. He is now going into his 15th season as an NFL player. He played in the Pro Bowl in 1996-1998. As a veteran punter, Turk has played in 219 career games. He has kicked 1,037 times and averages over 40 yards per punt. In 14 years, he has only had three punts blocked. In the three years that he has played for Houston, he has the top three punting seasons in the history of the Texans. His average punting in the last three seasons is over 42 yards
