Finnish cello metal band, Apocalyptica, is composed of cellists and a drummer. They got their start when 4 cellists (Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, Max Lilja, and Antero Manninen) got together to play Metallica covers. A Zen Garden agent signed them in 1993. Their debut album consisted of nothing but Metallica covers. Their second album included covers of Faith No More, Pantera, and Sepultura in addition to Metallica.
