Tejada is getting some bad press about misleading the league about his age. He’s 33 rather than 31 and all his official papers have the correct age. The age discrepancy started back in 93. Ed Wade says the revelation has no effect on the team. Wade would like to see him play out his contract and more.
Cecil Cooper won’t get a suspension for arguing with the umpire over a bad call but he will have to face Bob Watson from the MLB rules & onfield operations. TV showed that the umpire blew the call when Geoff Blum’s drive to deep center came out of Spilborghs’ glove. Maybe we need challenge reviews like in NFL. Cooper stands by his actions and did not utter a curse word during this altercation or any other.

Major League Baseball
Major League Baseball is the big show and the National League and American League work to produce a World Series after the regular season. Each team plays 162 games so there is plenty of opportunity to get out to the ballpark and cheer your favorite team along. Many consider baseball America’s pastime.
One notable difference between the two leagues is the Designated Hitter in the American League. When the two leagues meet, they play by the home team’s rules.
As of 2000 the two leagues are considered one under the umbrella of the of the MLB.
The original MLB agreement goes back to the 1876 NL Constitution and has revisions as recent as 2005. With the Commissioner’s direction the MLB hires the umpires and negotiates TV contracts as well as labor and marketing. The MLB also controls the minor leagues which is one of their sources for talented players. This unique control is a result of the 1922 Supreme Court ruling which held that baseball is not subject to antitrust law.

Houston Astros tickets
The Houston Astros is a Major League Baseball team that is based in Houston, Texas. They are in the Central Division of the National League. They are the current defending National League champions, and rose to fame in October of ’05 when they went to the World Series for the first time in their franchise history. On October 17th, 1960, Judge Roy Hofheinz and the ownership group from Houston was awarded a franchise in the ten-team National League, called the Houston Colt .45s. The name changed from the Houston Colt .45s to the Houston Astros on April 9, 1965. They modified the name because of objections by the Colt Firearms Company to the club’s sales of novelties bearing the old nickname. Turns out, the name “Astros” bore a futuristic sense because of the NASA program. Early on, the groundskeepers wore space suits to promote the futuristic image. The Astros were first playing indoor baseball in the Astrodome. After years at the outdated Astrodome, the Astros moved to their new stadium in 2000. Originally named Enron Field, the stadium was one of the first to feature a retractable roof. After the Enron Scandal in late 2001, they renamed the stadium Minute Maid Park. The Astros’ opponent in their first and only World Series was the Chicago White Sox. Games 1 and 2 were held at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, while Games 3, 4 were played at Minute Maid Park. Early conventional wisdom held that the White Sox were a slight favorite, but that Houston would be an even match. However, the Astros’ situational hitting continued to plague them throughout the World Series. The White Sox swept the Astros in the best-of-seven series with a run differential of only 6.
